Reviews & recommendations
We buy or borrow the product, use it for weeks in ordinary conditions, score it on five criteria and publish the measurements — including the unflattering ones.
How we test
A review is only worth reading if you know how it was produced. Here is ours, in full.
Weeks, not hours
Nothing is reviewed on a first impression. Minimum two weeks of real use, longer for anything you would keep for years.
Five scored criteria
Each product is rated independently on performance, build, usability, longevity and value, then weighted into one figure.
No paid verdicts
We never accept payment for a score, no brand sees a review before publication, and we return review units.
Disclosed every time
Every page with an affiliate link says so, at the top, close to the link. Commission never changes a verdict.

Outstanding stabilisation and colour straight out of camera. The menu system is still a maze, and the battery wants a spare.
The adjustment mechanism survived daily abuse. Genuinely space-efficient, though the plates rattle above 20kg.
Rock-solid at standing height and quiet on the way up. The cable tray is an afterthought.
The best isolation we have tested at any price, and comfortable past the four-hour mark.
Far more machine than the price suggests. The screen is the obvious compromise.
Step counting and sleep staging are solid. Heart-rate accuracy fell apart during intervals.
Fast, genuinely pleasant to use, and priced fairly for small teams. Reporting is thin.
Survived ninety dishwasher cycles without warping. The seals are excellent; lids do not stack well.
Lumbar support that still works after twelve months of eight-hour days. Assembly is a two-person job.
